Colleagues talk together in an office

Safe, respectful workplaces for employers

We help companies, public bodies and campuses prevent harassment and bullying, put in place policies and reporting routes that staff trust, and look after staff wellbeing.

Why it matters to your business

Harassment and bullying cost employers good people, lost days, legal risk and reputation. One in two people harassed at work tell no one, so the problem stays hidden until it becomes a complaint, a resignation or a headline.

In Kenya, every employer with 20 or more employees must issue a written sexual harassment policy after consulting staff, with a clear way to complain and a promise of confidentiality. Many organisations have a policy on file that nobody has read. We help you build one that people use, and train your people to act on it.

What we offer employers

Respect at Work training

Half day or full day, plus a session for leaders, HR and boards.

Staff and managers learn to recognise sexual harassment, bullying and abuse, step in safely and support a colleague. Leaders learn to receive a report, protect the person who made it and act fairly.

About Respect at Work

Harassment and bullying policies

Policy review or a new policy, with reporting procedures.

We review or write your anti harassment and bullying policy and the procedures for reporting abuse, then train managers and HR to apply them.

About policy support

Beneath the Surface

A talk for all staff or a 3.5 hour workshop.

Alcohol, drugs and mental health at work. What substance use costs the workplace, how to start a difficult conversation and what employers can do, from policy to return to work.

About Beneath the Surface

Men's wellbeing talk

45 to 60 minutes, for staff, leaders and boards.

The everyday pressures many men carry quietly, respect across gender and age, and clear next steps for leaders. Popular for International Men's Day on 19 November.

About the talk

All four are part of Safe Workspaces, our training and policy programme. You can book one, or combine them into a wellbeing and safety series.

Common questions

Do employers in Kenya need a sexual harassment policy?

Yes. Under section 6 of the Employment Act 2007, every employer with 20 or more employees must issue a written policy statement on sexual harassment after consulting staff. It must explain how to make a complaint and promise to keep complaints confidential.

Does the training cover bullying as well as sexual harassment?

Yes. Respect at Work covers sexual harassment, bullying and abuse, including harassment online and by people in positions of power.

Can you train managers and HR separately from staff?

Yes. Many employers run a staff session and a separate session for leaders, HR and the board on handling reports, investigations and support.

Can you run sessions online?

Yes. We work in person across Eastern, Southern and West Africa, and online anywhere.

How much does it cost?

It depends on the service, the format and the number of people. Book a free call and we will send a quote.
